Marie-Célie Agnant was born in Port-au-Prince; Haití, although she has been living in Montreal for three decades. She works parallel as a translator and an interpreter and as an investigation assistant in different sociological and cultural projects. She has also collaborated in the investigation " Adult women and habitat" for three years. This work inspired the novel La dot de Sara; novel with which she obtained the appreciation of the literary criticism. Marie-Célie, a theatre enthusiast, has been taking part in the activities of the theatre group Bread& Puppet Theater de Vermont for more than 15 years.
She has published: Balafres (1994), La dot de Sara (1995), Le silence comme le sang (1997), Alexis d´Haití (1999), Alexis fils de Raphaël (2000) and Vingt petits pas vers Maria (2001).
Emma´s book is her first literary work which has been translated into Spanish.
