Itziar Aizpurua

Itziar Aizpurua was born in Deba, in 1943. she joined ETA organization at the beginning of the 60-s and; in 1969, she was arrested and imprisoned for her task in the organization. A year later, she was judged in the process of Burgos together with Jokin; her sentimental partner and she was convicted to a 15 year imprisonment. After having stayed in prison for eight years, she was released in 1976. Itziar and Jokin took part in the beginnings of Herri Batasuna political party and they were members of the General Committee for some years. In representation of this political party, she was a member of the Spanish parliament at the Spanish Congress in 1986 and she was also a CAV parliamentarian in different legislatures. In 1997 and 1998, she was imprisoned for belonging to HB General Committee.
