The publication in Gara of the article “La prosa y la política”, signed by Alfonso Sastre, untied in the most rancid Right and its mass media a gale of opinions with shameful insults and contemptuous denominations, which do not deserve to be repeated. Anyone who knows him or approaches his biography knows that Sastre is a great dramatist, a committed and really supportive man; a fellow who has used the word to denounce what he considers unfair, to demand the dignity of his thought and of those who think like him. For Alfonso a poem is as important as a strike, a word as significant as a stone. His house is built with scraps of plays never acted, with censured articles, with struck words, with the poems written to his imprisoned wife, with the memory of his children who he did not see for years.
