The current socio-economic model has failed. It has failed in Euskal Herria and in the whole world. In this book Nekane Jurado, in collaboration with Santi Duñaiturria and Eusebio Lasa, proposes to pave the way for the construction of a new economic model based on solidarity; a model which distributes wealth equitably, which meets the needs of the majority, which insists social participation, which faces up to unemployment. That is one of the aims, to create a new way of being, living and understanding the world starting from the local, from what we already know, from Euskal Herria. And also starting from below, from the people, from workers – with special emphasis for women, immigrants and disadvantaged. Because historical claims are not the only ones that make independence desirable, economic reasons also make it an unavoidable necessity.
