The old wound.
The distortion of the events carried out starting from Navarre invasion in July 1512 by the Spanish Army is possibly one of the most infamous historical manipulations of our past. The author proves; with different documents, testimonies and all kind of texts in which way the events have been made up and hidden- described by the contemporaries as " violent conquest"- until changing them; as the Code of Laws improvement of 1982 shows at the incorporation " to the historical formation process of the Spanish national unity keeping up its kingdom condition".
The old wound does not only certify this manipulation but it also incites in its motivations, undressing the historical trajectory of some Navarre élites engaged in turning their backs on their compatriots and selling themselves to the highest bidder. This work, apart from revising the last five centuries of Navarre history, gives us the clue to understand " Navarrism" better and the nowadays behaviour of the country ruling classes.
