¿Cipayos? Policía vasca o brazo armado del PNV

This book denounces the interests which the PNV ( Basque Nationalist Political Party) has devised around the Ertzaintza ( Basque Police body). Founded in 1937 as an instrument of the Basque sovereignty, its later re-foundation, composition, direction and; above all, its repressive trajectory are making it become something very different from what it was expected.
With a wide documentary grounds, this essay aims to show that the Ertzaintza is a police body which belong to the PNV and; which is at the service of the Government, in Madrid to fight the political dissent.
What can be gathered from this book is that the Basque police force need a much bigger social consensus from the one it has got nowadays. Viciousness does not generate justice but hate and loss of prestige. One day, maybe earlier than later, the PNV will be displaced from its power, maybe by more sovereignty options and then, the Ertzaintza will have to answer for its past actions, go out from that spiral of political sepoysm and cicil clashes and; if its purpose is to remain, it will have to recognise any other legality sources but the one which the Basque citizens decide in democratic conditions.
