THE WAR IN EASTERN EUROPE
Following the most classical style of journey books, in this book; the great second one he has written after the unforgettable Insurgent Mexico; John Reed tells us about his stay in the eastern front since April to October, 1914 during the 1st World War.
Without giving any clues about their personal opinion against the conflict, Reed and his mate, Robinson went through Salónica, Constantinople, Serbia, Rumania and Russia, finding in each of those countries the instinctive answer of resistance and survival of the inhabitants who lived between anguish and the doubt before the occupation and war.
Different conversations in the cafés, different meetings in the bazaars and markets, cities in ruins, trenches and dances… Everything was written in this Argentinean journalist´s notebook where he shows us a wonderful documentary full of different personal stories and feelings.
